Sonora RZU-222 fm doesn't work
I recently picked up an Sonora RZU-222 off of ebay as a restoration project figuring i could just clean it up and replace the broken dial cord and have a nice radio but alas that is not the case. it picks up AM stations just fine but when you switch it to FM it still plays AM but it sounds muffled. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Joseph

Sounds like it might be just the switch not making contact.

i found the schematics here http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/542/M0018542.htm
but unless i've lost the ability to read them the switch i thought was an AM/FM switch is just "tone control" i have no idea what that is.

No, I'm afraid not.
FM is far different frequencies than AM.

That is an AM radio only. That is a tone switch.
Don't feel bad. It still looks like a nice radio, though.
