A new hamshack is on the way at the Radio Ranch...
An older existing adobe building here was in joint use by myself and my wife.
Part hamshack, part art studio. It was pretty crowded @ 10' X 16'.
I built her a new standalone studio, so the adobe is all mine now.
It got a new, retro-looking front porch for the exterior, and the interior is in flux.
Pix to post as time and progress dictates!

Are you gonna put up a "NO GIRLS" sign on the door?

Great going Dennis, wife needs her creative space and you need yours. In Sedona we had that, a little crowded in the small condo in CA but things can work out. Take care and hope to see you after the first of the year.

Dennis, Marsha is VERY talented. My wife does sewing with complex computer controlled machines. They do take a lot of room. Marsha has a very unique talent, I can't draw stick people well!

Re: A new hamshack is on the way at the Radio Ranch...
Yes post pictures! Sounds great.
I kind of did the opposite. I had a small 12x12 originally. When we built the house I "had" a area in the basement planned. By the time all of the basement was chopped off to things like rooms, stairs, etc so I would up with less than 10x10. So I built a workshop 40x24. It was made out if old barns I tore down. Its a good workshop but cold or hot depending if its winter or summer. So a couple of years back we added a 16x15 room on the house with a wrap around porch. I got about 6x16 of that new room and she got about the same, the rest is shelves for food and a refrigerator. Now it is warm in the winter and cool in summer.

Congrats on the adobe. We were looking at a house last summer that had a "casita" on it, which was an attached little adobe room tied onto the canopy between the house and garage. I would used that for my radio stuff. Enjoyed your websites, too!

Look toward the end for the newer parts for the newer hosting function.

Here are some pix of the interior, and the new framework and some parts for my retro 40 & 75m transmitter.
The framework goes off to the powdercoat guys this week.

Really nice Dennis. How much power did you have to run into your new shack?

Our service is 277/480V 200A 3PH. Luckily the distribution is right in the shack, so no shortage of electrons.

Re: A new hamshack is on the way at the Radio Ranch...
Dang Dennis I have to get a SW receiver working. When that transmitter starts going I suspect I might be able to receive you in CA! Nice looking work in progress. Let me know if you still want the Monarch, not certain when we will be back to AZ but if you can get up to Sedona I can arrange a neighbor to open up (he is old not much help carrying), also several boxes of tubes (all octal) for you. Most all weak but replacements didn't make any differences. So goes tube testers!
