Alert Monitor
Alert Monitor
I found a Midland WR-100 weather alert monitor in nice shape at the thrift store with 3 leaky AA's in it. Cleaned it out and set it up. I like having one around the house.

Re: Alert Monitor
I love thrift stores. I go into a lot of them and sometimes I find stuff nice. I don't think I have ever found a tube item I thought was worth the asking price. One of the radios I listen to a lot I got at goodwill. Its a 80s blue walkman stereo. I will listen it to it at night some. I also got a pair of infinity speakers for 14 bucks. A set of surrounds for about 30 and they were like new. The original price was 1000 and they are the best I have ever owned. I also found a RS stereo amp for 8 bucks and a channel master stereo I have in my house workshop. I use it to transfer records to the computer. A good little unit. I have found lots of stuff.

A weather monitoring radio is a good tool to have in areas where violent weather can occur.

They also can convey other emergency broadcasts as well, such as for flood or kidnap alerts. This one cost $4.
