It was bound to happen...
It was bound to happen...
Well...I just got off the phone with my doctor and my blood test came back positive for diabetes. I always knew I would someday have it as it runs strong down both sides of the family but I'm still pissed and worried. I go in Oct.5 to get the rundown on what's next. The doctor already called in the pills I have to take for now on. I just hope I can avoid taking the shots.

Best to you Tony, a whole lot of people live their lives with diabetes and are just fine. Just watch your diet and glucose level. Be glad you discovered the problem early in life as it can reak havok on the body when you don't know you have it.

You will probably be able to control it fine with diet, exercise, and weigt management. Insulin should be down the road.
Living on low carbs isn't the worse thing you can do.
I've had it for about 15 years. FYI

Tony, this would be a great time to go on a diet, but, I'm a little concerned about your bad hips. I pray you finally get the help you deserve.... I realize doctors in that state aren't all helpful I have the same problem here.

I'm right on the edge. I have to take Metformin and have lost around 35 pounds. I stopped using sugar about 5 years ago and went over to diet beverages and have changed my eating habits and do a lot of label reading to make my selections. That's kept me looking good with each blood test. I guess you could consider this a mandate to do the right things. There are a number of ways to go and the net is full of them, you just pick out what works best for you.
