Trying Something New
Trying Something New
I'll be doing some pipe insulation work under the house and my halogen work light as usual had it's bulb burned out, so I thought I would see what was available in the way of a LED based light. I found this one. It has a water resistant switch, and is quite cool compared to the halogen. It puts a good bit of brilliant white light. The stand doesn't seem as sturdy as the lamp head, but I guess every new thing has some achilles heel in one way or another. The pic of the unit has a teeny weeny link in the corner that has a pdf of its illumination specs.

Re: Trying Something New
I bought a couple pair of coveralls to use in this project. To get the body size, the arms and legs were 6 ft. long. I took them to be altered. $30 to alter a $20 pair. At least they will be my size. I'm tired of going up an octave when i put them on.

Re: Trying Something New
I do, but Bill would probably ban me if I wrote them out. I just got done using the light. It's as bright as a halogen and cool as a flashlight. It looks like the water pipes that barely froze last year runs just inside the cinder block wall. I guess I'll get heat tapes for them. the water service comes in at the center, goes to the rear wall, over to the water heater at one side in the garage and to the cold kitchen and bath at the center. Crawling it feels like 75 to 80 feet, but it is probably 20-25 feet each direction. I got knee pads at Harbor freight too. a good investment.
