Howard 2101 (Models 400-A/425-A) Remote Control
Does anyone own a Howard 400-A or 425-A with the 2101 remote control? It was an option on those sets and mine came without one. I am considering building one as I have not seen one for sale. I have the schematic and a drawing, but would appreciate seeing a photo and having some measurements to make mine look as much like the original as I can.

Sounds like a rare device, but, neat. I have never seen one. I've had an RCA with one, and, a Philco with one, but, never a Howard. Should be an interesting project. Both of my remotes were in bakelite cases, but, I don't see why it couldn't be put in a wooden one....

It is really quite simple - just pushbuttons for 8 stations plus off. The radio does all of the heavy lifting - see Rider Howard 9-23. I have a pushbutton bank that will work, and will probably end up putting it in a simple cabinet just to have something that works. The Howard doesn't have volume control like the Mystery Control, just motorized tuning presets, but I think it is still pretty neat.
