A New Keyboard
The black keyboard with white characters that came with this new computer has been a pain to use. The old one was beige with black letters. my old eyes worked a bit better with it. I found this keyboard at one of my favorite stores and thought I would give it a try. I've had good luck with changing the black filler on the rulers and calipers I use with yellow, so I thought this might be a good choice too.

Re: A New Keyboard
Neat product, I like it. I do touch type but when the room is dark it is hard to find the home row! I like it.
Thanks, Jerry

I hope they hold up well. I guess if it doesn't have the heavy duty feel to it, I can spring for a spare at that price.

Re: A New Keyboard
The postman brought it while I was replacing the starter on the truck. This thing is nice. The only thing nicer would be a lighted keyboard.

I guess they got mixed up with Chesapeake W. Va., I have family over there.
It's amazing how many people get Virginia and West Virginia mixed up.

Hard to imagine but I know you're right...
In 1970 I was visiting my grandmother in Williamsburg WV(my hometown) and there was a family looking for the restored colonial buildings...

I kid you not...

Remember year because I had the future ex-wife with me, first time she'd been to WV...

Well, at least they pack them good. It seems like Fex Ed likes to keep their stuff in constant motion, right course or not.

Re: A New Keyboard
Isn't there a Wheeling West VA? They could've hit all the bases without going so far. Everytime I think of Fex Ed, I remember how well they delivered Tom Hanks.

Re: A New Keyboard
I knew there was one, but not where. Everyone had a washtub or trash can made there when I was growing up. Apparently they are precious enough to make Worthpoint these days.

Wheeling WV is approx 40 mi SW of Pittsburgh, no doubt where the steel was mfg'd for those washtubs & trash cans...

Overall I'm happy, will take a little getting used to... Mainly the back space key, on my old Dell board it's double, have a little issue this this boards single key...
So I ain't typing in all capitols I've all ready pried out the caps lock button, saves me a lot of grief...

Re: A New Keyboard
When I have a button I want to neuter, I pull the button and put a couple of drops of super glue on the switch, and put the button back on after it dries. It also makes things more entertaining when someone else uses it.

Re: A New Keyboard
You guys just don't adapt well apparently.
Me neither, the wife's laptop I hate the keyboard, talk about things laid out wrong! I also hate the "touch pad" mouse control. When I die I will have a trackball mouse grasped in my hand.

If I'm really pissed, I can stick a ink pen the opening and still type in caps

Wife got a wireless mouse for hers so that's OK but you're right, the keyboard sucks...

Re: A New Keyboard
I found out why these boards were so cheap, there is a new and improved version without the awful reverse "L" shaped enter key(I've hacked off the top portion) and itsy-bitsy backspace key... They are also still avail in yellow black but this black & white listing gives better view of the new key layout...

I was at big lots the other day, and they had the old and disproved units for $4. I got my backup.

Re: A New Keyboard
Any keyboard seems to work for me so long as the characters don't wear off.
I'm not a typist, I use the columbus methode; I find a key and land on it!
