LOL. Not so, they are just working meters--but I try to keep them nice and in calibration.

I like the Triplet there for alignments across the speaker because it has a specific input jack marked "Output" (meaning amplifier output) just designed for doing peaking or nulling for audio amps. The calibration procedure includes adjusting an internal trimmer capacitor for response at 20kHz.

I've had several VOM's and a few VTVM's as well.   The Triplett is simply a private label Viz/RCA unit.   I had  the RCA model back in the day, and it was a very good meter, and able to measure, what was at the time, very low DC voltages to aid in working with those "new" transistor things.

To the OP's comments, I also have one of those old meters, and I think it was a deluxe model.

In addition to the 269 I also have a 262, which I like the resistance scale on, great for troubleshooting wire harnesses.

Cool stuff, Mike!

KC is kind of a second home for me with friends and family there. (I live in Des Moines, Iowa)
Maybe you can give me a test equipment tour sometime I'm down around there.

Isn't that resistor hooked up wrong? it's hooked between common and 50,000 whereas it should be 5,000 or am I wrong?
