Three RCA 6-T-86's on KC CL
There are three of these on Kansas City Craigslist now. One is the bogus one that I tried to buy last summer, but the other two are new on CL. The one in Bolivar is vastly overpriced, and they have plugged it in (AARRRGGGHH!!!) One is $50, which is about right. The one in Bolivar appears to be the nicest of the three, but I'll bet they fried something important plugging it in and getting a hum. I can't get all the links to work, so I gave up.
I probably did this the hard way, but here they are:

Without any links, I don't know. And, if they got a hum, it might not be destroyed...

The first one (I think) is the one I looked at last summer. The second is the expensive one. The last one has the best price. Surely with three sets there is a good one to be had. And you are right about the hum. May not have had the selector switch positioned correctly, may not have waited for the tubes to warm up, lots of things. Not necessarily a sign it's dead. Not good to plug in without taking precautions.
