Re: DuMont TV
In short, I'd say GRAB IT, AND RIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's about a '52 model, it is a three way combination, AM, FM Radio, rect. tv, and, Phonograph, and, it looks Goergeous!!!!!!!!
That grain on the front doors is the real thing. It's butt mahoganny veneer. At that time Dumont was still the best tv on the market. Big, expensive, and, yes, a real boat anchor! Be prepared for that one. You will need help.. Not the easiest first set you could get. Dumont tv's were over built. Alot to them. But, looks to me if in that truly good shape, it's a steal. No, not a big ticket tv, but, definately a collector's item........
Run for that baby!!!!!!!!!
I see some finnish dammage, but, all in all, not bad at all....

Re: DuMont TV
We get a lot of that kind of stuff around here. Or people theaten to do it so someone will overpay for their item to save it. The good thing is that CRT's are considered hazardous waste by most people and they are afraid to take stuff apart for fear they can't get rid of the parts. And then there is the asbestos scare. Both of these things work to save some stuff until someone can get them and preserve them.
