Picked up piezo from RS today and also ordered p-51 cartridge. Thought I'd give them both a try and see which works best.

Re: Motorola 85F21
Well the Motorola progress is moving along well. The chassis is complete, the cabinet is refinished with bombay mohagany stain and 2 coats semi-gloss lacquer. Now just waiting for the TT parts to arrive to see if I can retrofit the new cartridge.

Re: Motorola 85F21
Isn't there another guy out there that rebuilds these? I was thinking maybe in Arkansas or close. Although it could have been the place mentioned. I have never used them though. I need to get one for my seeburg jukebox as it was dead. It looked a lot like yours.

Re: Motorola 85F21
If there is I have not found any contact info.
Update:
The only radio rebuilder that comes to mind in Arkansas is the YouTube guy "Joernone" but I haven't seen him repair a TT.

Re: Motorola 85F21
Well the Pfanstiehl P-51 Astatic 51 came and I made a temporary pickup arm modification to allow the cartridge to rest on the album......did not work. With the wires connected to the new cartridge , powered up, I rubbed my finger across the stylus and got nothing. I connected the old Technics TT I have to the chassis and it played, albeit not very much volume but it did play. I emailed WestTech Services to get a price on rebuilbing the old cartridge before I start trying to rebuild it myself.

Getting closer. Got the TT drawer front on and the flocking came in today so tomorrow I'll try to flock the TT. I connected an ipod nano to the phono input this morning.....man does it sound great.
Sachmo never sounded better.
