Philco Model 46-1201 Table AM Radio/Phono
I know a gentleman with a Philco Model 46-1201 Table AM Radio/Phono. It is working but he says it is untouched. The case needs a little work and it does have a slight hum. The phonograph works but very little sound comes out. As we all know there are models you wish you had and models you wish you had never purchased. Any feedback on this would be greatly apprciated.

That should be a not too bad re build for you. They use a stacked power supply and, it puts out more voltage than a normal set. Also, you will have to replace that rubber wire wound around that B-capacitor. It needs the wire because it acts as a filter choke.
Set plays fairly well. Phono rubber parts will have to be made by hand, and, phono uses a tricky switch for the motor.
But, though definately low fi, they are a neat set.

Warning. Don't pay alot of money. They are very common.

No, after taking a closer look at it I decided to pass. The record player arm was almost broken off at the base and the wiring was a mess so I decided to wait until I found a better project. Thanks for checking. Hey....have you had a chance to try the pin socket cleaner brushes I sent you for Christmas?
