CRT Tester as homebrew project Empty CRT Tester as homebrew project

I somehow accumulated some CRT testers over last 25 years and can not seem to sell them. So, I decided to see if I could build something else useful from one. In addition to having selectable heater voltages from 1 to 13 v, it has a volt. doubler /filter ckt. that provides about +300v. So it could light up any number of tubes (one or two at a time) and has B+ for experimenting with said tubes. I suppose someone has already done this but I have not seen any articles about it.

Not sure the power transformer could handle either the current, or, the run time. These testers were meant for short use. Not extended. I fear the power transformer would quickly overheat.
