Re: Home Sweet Home
I will say I could live there, but my wife, probably not. Do they have power/water/sewer/Phone/DSL and satellite reception? After that, I would be happy, her, still not. Local shopping malls, quilt and fabric stores, etc. Not bad for perhaps a 3 or 4 day get away. Only that long if they had a lake nearby with good fishing.

Re: Home Sweet Home
All I would need is an oil lamp to read at night and a shotgun in case someone uninvited showed up!

My father had a house along those lines in the Ozarks. He had advanced heart disease and retired early to the place. He got to have 3 years of bliss living there.

If you have never seen it I highly recommend this.

There is a couple of movies made from his films. He retired early and lived in Alaska on his own for about 30 years. They usually show it on PBS where I live during their fundraising. I can watch it and it makes my blood pressure go down because it is so relaxing. The mans name was Dick Proenneke.
