That does look quiet and peaceful!
You need a better shot of the radio though...
Not to get off topic, but that's a nice lamp as well. I restored a smaller one...is that the type were you turn the "key" and the first click causes the top to light up, the 2nd click causes top and bottom to light up, 3rd click just the bottom and so on and so forth?

Yes you're right about a better photo of the radio and you are correct about the lamp too!
I got the radio from an estate auction not two miles from my farm. It is original right down to the power cord which needs to be replaced. I don't know how they managed to keep it so nice for so many years!

Thanks W8WHO
I like the idea of the AM transmitter, I may have to do that as well!

Mezlaw, everyone needs a nice place to relax and listen to a radio. Even though I can't see your radio in your picture, the place looks nice. I too love the lamp. My little man cave for relaxing has a Scott Metro next to the TV. With a small antenna of about a couple of feet for the AM and a rather sad 300ohm twin lead T antenna for the FM, I mostly use the SST 3000 transmitter in my garage to broadcast from either my FM tuner or my CD player or even an MP3 player. You really need to get one of those transmitters! Many run their computer into them for music. My computer is no where near the transmitter so not an option for me. The transmitter is the best investment I have made in enjoying my radios. AM in my area is really poor in the day time and no stations I wish to listen to. All of my radios are working and all have perhaps a foot of antenna on them. Enough to capture the signal from the little transmitter in my house and even my neighbor, who I gave a nice radio to for his man cave can pick it up!

Re: Philco 41-258
Here is a better view of the radio. I'm fortunate enough to have great radio reception with good programming so I never gave much thought to a transmitter. TV reception is a whole other story.

PS..thanks for the kind works about my place.

Larry, you still have not mastered attaching a picture of your radio!
And you must admit that most of your radios, like mine, don't receive FM which gives me a lot more choices. Not to mention CDs or MP3 players. Get one and build it, it comes as a kit. Lot of fun to put together with great instructions, just use a low power soldering iron. A lot of fun to build and I have mine on a timer, goes on about 11am and off about 12pm. I'm not a morning person!

OK: Your picture came through while I was typing this. Very nice!
