Re: Steampunk!?
The same way they used to say that good was BAD or Shut up was, that's good.
All a plot by the youth to undermine proper English to confuse communications.
from the web :
"So basically it's an alternative view on modern technologies that instead of using silicon, foundries, high tech assembly plants, using clockwork and coal (steam) for their mechanisms and power source. It does seem like an incredibly inefficient way of fabricating and running high tech machinery but on good side of things, hey we wouldn't have to worry about Euro to UK plug convertors, Euro to US power convertors and so on...
Because of the age it's based on, other aspects of modern technology are also missing, like the sleek designs, aluminum works, plastics (since petroleum simply isn't a part of steampunk technology), so we end up with 19th century designs using a lot of wood and copper. "

Re: Steampunk!?
Steampunk can be summed up by the phrase "Victorian Futuristic Technology". As Cliff said it's steam or clockwork, leather, brass & copper.

Re: Steampunk!?
Best website for Steampunk stuff or ideas is Etsy.com. Necklaces with tubes hanging off of them. Tube Christmas tree ornaments. Tube radios with ungodly paint schemes. Glass-topped typewriter keys used as necklaces or bracelets. Yes, unfortunately, the old common typewriters with those type keys or worth more just for the keys.
"Whatever floats your boat" as we used to say as teens back in the early '80s.

We used to marvel at such things watching "The Wild Wild West" in the '60s.
