GE 218 missing wire? Empty GE 218 missing wire?

Post by rick68gto on Tue Jun 26, 2012 11:53 am

have a GE 218 that don't have a power cord with it. i replace the power cord and a few tubes. I got it to work, sound good. But on fm i cannot get a station to come in. Been reading the schematics, the receiver has a build in FM power line antenna to operate from this antenna it is necessary to connect the brown wire coming out of the cabinet back to the right hand screw of the antenna terminal strip. The problem is that i have no wire coming out of the back. Can someone please tell me where i need to solder this wire.

This radio originally had the FM antenna wire built into the power cord. Since the original power cord has been removed you no longer have the wire to attach to the screw. To solve this you need to attach a single long piece of wire to the screw on the antenna strip.
