Hallicrafters S-120
Good morning All.
I have a Hallicrafters S-120, that has a rather scratchy, slightly garbled audio.
As yet, have found no bad components, but there is a bit of an ac hum.
Sensitivity and volume seem to be fine.
Can anyone suggest a cause?
Thanks
Nigel

Re: Hallicrafters S-120
Hi, Bill
Thanks for the welcome.
And thanks for the tip.
Sure enough, one of the electrolytics was a bit doubtful, so replaced it.
Hum and distortion gone and the set is working well.
Regards
Nigel

Re: Hallicrafters S-120
Congrats. However, if you want this set to work reliably, you will need to replace the old paper capacitors as well.
May we see pictures?
Thanks.

Hi, Bill
I've not uploaded photos to your site before, so I hope this works!
I used the "Host an image" button for two images - hope they come through.

Nigel
