newbie question on alignment
Got my GE G53 project playing well. I wanted to complete it's alignment but I'm stumped. I need to connect the signal generator to the converter grid pin of the 6A8G tube. I've found this pin configuration: http://www.nj7p.org/Tube4.php?tube=6a8g
As a newbie, I'm still stumped. Which is the converter grid pin?
Thanks tons for your help friends.

Pin 4.
What reference are you using that instructs you to do it this way? Usually, a generator's output is inductively coupled into the radio's loop antenna with a simple coil.

Re: newbie question on alignment
Most superhetrodynes require a connection through a blocking capacitor (typically 0.1uf) to the control grid of the converter tube for IF alignment only. In the case of the 6A8 the control grid is the cap on the top of the tube. Reference the signal generator to ground.
All other alignment is done with the generator connected to the antenna through a small capacitor that simulates antenna loading, or by inductively coupling the signal.

Thanks Steve. I was able to decode all the other alignment procedures, but the control grid connection had me stumped. I've still got a lot to learn.

Re: newbie question on alignment
The control grid on a 6A8G is that connection on top of the tube.
