Spare Parts....
Turned on the old Tek 547 to do some work yesterday morning, the traces came up, and the trace looked kinda strange. Finally realized there was no retrace blanking on the "A" time base. Found a bad 2N2207 in the blanking circuit. After an hour of searching on the net, I found one, NINE BUCKS for a 40 year old TO-5 PNP ho-hum transistor (gotta keep it original Ya Know). Worse yet, I had to buy 6 of em to get to the fifty buck minimum.
Good part is, I'll never have another one fail.

Re: Spare Parts....
I think the 2N2907 would also work fine, and a lot easier to find.

Re: Spare Parts....
Hi Dave,
Yup You're right, looks like it would, but I jest can't imagine a little 29 cent plastic part working as well as a shiney nine buck metal one. Besides, I only got 75 or so of those little plastic jobs.
To be honest, I never gave it a thought. There were alot of excelent devices in the 2000 and 3000 series of transistors.
