Re: Are you a Ham?
The NCX-1000 is a work in progress; I recently rebuilt the 2800 volt plate supply with all new electrolytics. It's from around 1970, and is mostly solid state with a tube driver and final. I did have to replace the pass transistor in the main 14 volt regulated supply, and the receive section does work. A dummy-load test is next.
The R-390A has been partially recapped, and I'm trying to finish it as time permits. The AR-8516 was one of the prototypes from the Meadow Lands, PA plant, where they were designed and assembled; it is functional.
So many projects, and so little time!
