Hey Now
I'm 49 and live in funky funky New Orleans. I grew up in the end of the tube era in Cleveland. When I finally got a grown up radio for my bedroom it was the old KLH model 8 that had been retired from the family room/dining room/kitchen. I didn't understand at the time why that old radio sounded so good. That particular radio is still in my childhood bedroom. Fast-forward thirty years; I'm dating a girl with her parents' Grundig floor radio. This time I understand, it's those firebottles that sound so sweet.
I have a McIntosh 240 amp that I spent some money on, I have a bell 2521 mono receiver that needs a recap, I have a Pilot 1060 stereo portable phonograph that could stand to be gone through, I have a Lafayette 236A that needs the full treatment. I have a Pioneer SR101 reverb unit. I'm going to need some help.
I am a restoration carpenter and I play the cowbell. New Orleans is a town you can play a cowbell in.

Re: Hey Now
Hey Pete! Good to see a Nolar on here
I spent a summer in your fine city back when I was a 'confused youth'. 1972, 19 years old. Lived in a rooming house at 1918 Gen. Pershing St.
I just went back for a visit this past summer after 38 years and was left breathless about what a beautiful city NOLA is. Well, half of it anyway.
Went back to revisit Gen. Pershing St. (which was a decaying neighborhood at the time) and found it to be a vibrant neighborhood - houses painted in colors other than white - haha.
Anyway, good to see you here. Cowbells and all.
