Re: ARF down again?
Crittical Error!
Cannot conect to server.
Sites ' down.
I've been having constant problemsfor 3 days of Crittical Error.
Happens when I try to navigate, and, when I try to post.
Why has yet another server failed?
Modern junk.
ARGH!

Maybe it needs recapping. Or maybe the "new server" never really existed.

If no one else says it-
Thanks Bill.

Re: ARF down again?
I'm a retired computer specialist with extensive background in this sort of stuff. There seems to be some confusion on ARF with all kinds of finger pointing at imagined culprits so lets lay some to rest.
The problem was caused by yesterdays spammer. - Nope.
The problem is due to all the users. - Nonsense. Here's the number of current users on another forum (There are currently 943 users online.) and we have never, ever had these problems.
It takes time to work out the bugs. - Yeah, maybe a day, but this is going on since the server change and it's getting worse. Either no one's trying to fix it or they don't know what they're doing.
I'm sure they're working on the problem. - Maybe (I personally doubt it) but what's so difficult about communicating with your client base? There have been several posts on ARF complaining about a lack of communication from buyers, sellers, shippers, receivers, etc so the subject should not be an unknown concept to anyone. It's called "Professionalism".

While I understand your opinion Stan and the others stated here my comment might be the odd man out. Alan over the years has stated that at various times (sometimes over the bickering that takes place from time to time) that giving it up might be a definite option. Although he does run the Forum it is definetly not his entire life. To lose ARF and its archives in my own opinion would be a sad day.
Just my 2 cents

Maybe the umbrella Alan was looking for is for the server?
Been raining a lot out here lately.

Re: ARF down again?
Guys, due to growing concerns by some people at ARF, I have decided to quit posting whenever ARF is down to tell what I know. Some people are upset, and, saying I am allowing the two forums to cross grounds. Actually, I only did it to help members so they'd know they weren't alone.
I am locking this thread until further notice. Sorry, guys.
Don't be angry. People are people. This is only an internet. What happens happens.

Re: ARF down again?
Yep, gripping about it solves nothing, it is what it is, just enjoy having an alternative place to talk radios. Nuff said.
