Restore chips in paint

Post by nytuberadio on Fri Sep 17, 2010 3:23 pm

I don't know if a remedy for everyone but I have a beige RCA radio. the radio was a painted beige over a bakelite brown. There were a large number of chips showing the brown. I went to home depot with a redio and they came up with a computerized color match. I got a cup of paint for $3 and used a tooth pick to fill in the voids. It worked well and adhereds.
Dont know how durable it is or how long it will last.

Is it the original factory beige, or someones painting over the Bakelite?

If there is over-spray on the inside, or the paint is uneven and has runs. Also most paint jobs are high gloss if factory. If you got a color match, was it with enamel?
If it was a paint with epoxy you will have a very durable touch-up.
