You can get air in a aerosol can . What do you mean by air capacitor ? Are you saying tuning capacitor Question
Only thing i can think of to clean one fast and drys real fast is carb cleaner. It drys fast so not to melt plastic ect.

What i would do turn upside down let dry awhile.
Blow it out with some dry air . Clean with good dry cloth
then see . Could have got some of the trimmers wet.
I would set it in the sun awhile or put a fan on it. Very Happy

If your tuning condenser is wide enough between the fins . Use a small finger nail file the cardboard type. If not use
fine sandpaper and clean them real good . If you have it working touching the loop antenna try a long wire on it.
What type of set is it. Rolling Eyes

I looked at the schematic at nostalgia air your set designed for loop or external antenna. Give external a try.
