Most radios now have I.C.s. Most have no longer any discrete transistors.

What kind of transistor radios ? pocket , portable , multiband ??

All new pocket radios have the model # ''junk101''

Are you asking about radios made today that only have transistors? If so, I'm not aware of any, and as Cliff said most have IC's in them.

IC's and SMT is the only way to stay competitive today. Transistors and "through the board" components are cost prohibitive.

Even with the discrete components, such tightly packed boards kind of reduce the fun factor in working on them.
