Paint recommendations
The gold paint on my Zenith L566 is faded and worn in spots and there is some starting to flake off of the turntable. Is there any specific paint recommended for this, or will I have to experiment? What should I do to about the station numerals? What color should the speaker grill be? Sorry for all the questions but I'm completely new to old radios. Here are some pics (borrowed from ebay) for reference.

Re: Paint recommendations
Best thing to do is take your set to a place that custom colors spray paint . Let them mix you up some in cans .
Is this a bakelite set or metal . Looks maybe metal according to pics see a few dents maybe. Oh have you done any work on chassi ,caps resisters ect.

Re: Paint recommendations
Denver, this is a brown bakelite set. The gold such as the bezel on the front are metal, perhaps aluminum, zinc, or something of that nature. I was wondering if there is a particular brand/color that would be close to original.
Oh, and happy birthday Denver!

Re: Paint recommendations
I would look for some antique brass or gold color charts .
Could even see if automotive body ect , places could mix some for you. Hard to find original paints . Every company had a patient on their colors . Then time fade ect makes it different.
