WTB: Philco Transitone chassis
I would like to find a Philco Transitone chassis to complete a PT-50 project. See illustration of a PT-50 here:
http://www.philcoradio.com/gallery/1940c.htm#21
This uses one of the very small, compact, five tube Philco Transitone chassis.
I would prefer to have one which uses a loop antenna, and that has the loop still attached to the back of the chassis, but will settle for a chassis without a loop.
Here is a partial listing of chassis that should work:
PT-26, PT-28, PT-33, PT-36, PT-41, PT-42, PT-44, PT-46, PT-48, PT-61, PT-69, TH-14, TH-16, 41-KR, 42-KR3, 42-KR5.
I would prefer a 1940 PT chassis which has a dial scale as shown in the link above. Otherwise I'll be looking for the dial scale and pointer also.
Thanks for your help!

Re: WTB: Philco Transitone chassis
Sorry, Ron. I have that model, but, I'm not interested in trashing it.
I think it's one of the first Transitones.

Re: WTB: Philco Transitone chassis
I'm not asking anyone to trash anything, I just was hoping to find a chassis or junky set for the chassis.
Guess I'll just watch eBay or look for one at the swap meets.

Re: WTB: Philco Transitone chassis
Ron, I will have another look at mine. Now, I'm thinking my case may have an issue.
If so, would you be interested in my entire radio?
I'm not great at case repairs.
PM, or, e mail me if so. I'll look up my set, and, give specifics on it. I think I had done work on chassis, but, was having some issues with some tube sockets.
I have to check on that again to make sure...

No, I didn't get an e mail from you. Please leave a pm.
I still have to locate mine.
No e mail recieved, so, maybe my stupiid internet e mail server is rejecting yours. Is yours aol? If so, they automatically reject mail from them, and, I don't understand why.

Re: WTB: Philco Transitone chassis
Ron, I found the radio. It's in pretty sad shape.
Case could be repaired, but, it's a mess. Chassis is also repairable, but, speaker is toast.
Broken dial cord. It didn't play after re capping. I found more bad wiring, and, now, speaker is even worse than it was.
All tubes are there. It could be repaired. P M me, and, we'll work out a deal.
Too much for me to bother with. More important un-finnished projects here.
