Rogers Majestic R555

Post by Leon Vose on Thu Mar 25, 2010 12:18 am

I have a Rogers Majestic R555 which is AM plus Shortwave and am trying to find out some info on it. I am wanting to get an idea of the year that it was made. I need to re-string it and it would help to know the year so I can search through the SAMS books. Does anyone have any info on this unit. It's a beautiful bakelite model and works great (when the string was not broken). Better yet the string diagram would be ideal.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the post on this. I took a look at this schematic. The radio I have is a 6 tube but the R5525 is 5 tube and is laid out differently. The patent on the R555 is 1940-1956 so I have a range but trying to find the stringing diagram is going to be a bit tricky.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply Denver. Unfortunately both of the sites cost. One is a retail outlet and the other is a society that one has to join prior to asking for any information. That said, I have found out the unit is 1957 vintage and do have a schematic. I am still looking for the stringing guide though as it was not in the manual I found the schematic in.
