Emerson tv set...my first

Certainly is a cute TV. I like the 7" televisions. I have a Motorola VT-71 (or 73, can't remember Embarassed ) and I hope to get it to the bench soon. Don't know if the CRT is good. Wish me luck!

thats nice Emerson tv what I have in my collection far as sets go is 2 RCA 8T241's and Philco 51PT1207 12in bakelite and Ge 21 b/w console from `1957 in original working order I picked up from a customers house where the ladies mother was still using the set in her family room I also have few early Sony portables to.

So, have you had a chance to work on that TV yet? It is rather complicated. And, I hope the 7JP4 is good. They are scarce...

I like the smell of selenium rectifiers in the morning.....

So, do we have fierce debate on this forum about:

To replace the selenium, or to not replace the selenium? I will stick my neck out. I replace them because I don't care to deal with it later....

I think that it might be best to stuff the selenium rectifier with
a 1N4007. That will keep it looking original.

actually yes Smile lol. my soldering gun decided to melt down on me so i got out the old copper and I'm stuck with that untill i get some money for a new gun in a few weeks lol

ps, I'm FINALLY ordering caps for it soon. I can't get a decent deal in canada and shipping is expensive..... sometime i wish i lived in the states
