WWV Time Standard

Post by CrystalRadioMan on Sat Sep 01, 2018 11:24 am

Some of you might not know that WWV and WWVB are in jeopardy of being taken off the air. They are not in next year's federal budget. These stations are used to generate the time standards that many organizations and ham radio operators use. Atomic clocks also synchronize to these frequency standards. Please go to the link below and sign the petition to keep these stations going.

Sadly, only 20,000 signatures were received; 100,000 were needed. The petition has been closed.

This is a little off of the subject, but has anybody else heard the number broadcasts? The whole message is just a series of numbers. I had heard about them, but I was surprised that they were real.
