Hello radio enthusiast!

I am what some would call a "Newb" to tube radios... but I look to be a sponge and learn from the great minds on this forum.

I recently purchased a beautifully restored 1960 Magnavox Imperial. It currently needs nothing, but I will share some photos of it and what my intentions are with it somewhere on this forum... when I find the right place to post it... haha.

Anyhow, thanks in advanced for your collective knowledge and I can't wait to learn more about the world I just entered.

Corey B.

Hello all, my apologies for posting this here. I am new to the forum and it seems I am unable to contact the administrators or start a new post of my own. Is there a special trick to being able to start my own post?

Thank you and sorry about the newbie questions.

Punkin,

No trick...

Go to the home page and select a topic to post in that is most describes the issue.

On the far right of the head on that topic page is a box to post a new topic, click and type away.

Welcome to TRF. My father used to have the 1946 version of the Imperial in a different cabinet. I wish I could complete the parts I've picked up so I can put the set into my cabinet. I'm missing the antenna, and, the high frequency horn tweeter. Have you any extra parts??

Sorry, just saw your message, looks like I just missed it... I live in the Wake Forest/Raleigh area, but I will keep any eye on other meetups or groups in the future. Thanks for the info!

Thanks Bill, I will have to look up what the older models look like for the Imperials. The one I have is in pretty ideal shape, the only thing I will be looking for is some replacement glass for the top. The ones I have are in great shape, but one of them is a slight darker wood printed on the glass than the other two.. plus I know it's something that could crack or get scratched in the future, so might be good to have another set.
