What is the difference between a Zenith H500 and an R520?

Post by oaksky on Sun Jun 11, 2017 5:40 pm

My grandson & I have purchased a couple of Zenith Transoceanic Radios, both are H500 but am having problems finding manuals. Found one on ebay that said it was for H500, R520, R520A & 600, but it only contains verbiage and schematics for R520 & R520A. Are the schematics the same for all 3? If find that hard to believe.

Neither of the radios we bought work, but that was our intent. Started replacing bad cap's and it went from a hum to no hum or noise of any type.

Thanks for any insight or ideas.

Zenith did updates as they were needed. Sam's does carry a schematic for the H-500, but, I don't remember the sams. One thing. These sets use a ballast tube. If that's burned out, You may have problems.
Good luck.
