Hello from West Virginia
Hi all, my name is Clayton and I like to design crystal radios and also regerative radios.
I'm also going to restore a Magnavox console that I picked up not too long ago. I was told to come to this website and look for a memner called Wildcat for help with it. Hope you are here Wildcat!

Welcome!
I used to love building crystal sets. I haven't done one for a long time. It's just one more thing on the "to do" list.
Maybe share some photos with us if you have some?
cheers

Clayton, I have a good friend who collects crystal radios. I sent him an old crystal set I had that I was not using. We'll for sure get together to figure out your Magnavox. Welcome and nice to meet you.

Welcome to TRF forums. We have great guys here.
Wildcat is our Magnavox magician. You should see some of the stuff he's restored. Nice, top notch work.

I appreciate the encouragement and will do what I can to help him get back up and running.
I just noticed that the avatar that CrystalRadioMan posted is of a GE clock radio like I have in the shop.

All I have is the pink one. I find the styling distinctive and attractive for a relatively inexpensive radio.

I have that particular model in Pink, Blue, White, and Black.
I also have a GE Musaphonic clock radio in a powder blue.

I have several of these GE's including one that my grandparents have owned since new. They perform well especially for a clock radio. All of mine are white cases but have different color faces.

Re: Hello from West Virginia
I also have to in pink just like this;
Well how about that! I am not allowed to post any link as a new member, so I can't show you the radio.
I have several of this model too;

Besides a few white ones, I have this in Tan, Mint Green, Yellow, Light Blue, and Pink.
I have about 250 tube radios with about 30 of them as GE clock radios.
I'm going to start sell most of this stuff off locally, I need to reduce my inventory.
Just about everything which is plastic and printed circuit board is going!

Re: Hello from West Virginia
I can sympathize with that situation. I sure wish you luck. There are mooches out there who will take your radios off your hands for free, but get picky when you mention you want $$$.

I agree with you about the moochers.........I may start making a few trips to the landfill myself! I had a real nice multiband portable restored and installed 4 new "C" cells with a price tag of $25. A lady said she liked it but thought it was too much to pay. So I asked; "What do you think it should sell for?" her response; "about $5". The darn new batteries cost that much. I gave it to a kid who had no money but I knew he would appreciate it. I'm not hard hearted and I do give away many things, but when I detect a cheap whiner they get zip!

Re: Hello from West Virginia
Well I posted yesterday that I could not post any links to radios and have not had any response. Is anyone moderating and seeing this problem?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes. we do. We have two moderators, and, me, the administrator.
Please be patient with us. We are all getting older, and, busy with things, but, we always get to our forums. It may be that we don't have any answers for this. It sometimes takes time.

Also, you should be able to type the link in your post. You must be posting, and, there you can put the links. Links are appreciated by all.

Oh, I forgot. On your link , put your arrow on the link, right click,
and click on copy. Then, at the forums, in your post click on right switch on your mouse, and, click on paste.

Bill thanks but.....I know how to add a link, I got a message which stated I could not add a link in my post because I'm a new member.
Also I'm sorry if I came across as impatient, I guess I'm spoiled from some other forums where there is much more posting and quicker response. I will say it is a frienly site.
Gay West Virginia is just north of me, but I have not been there.

Re: Hello from West Virginia
Well as far as working on my Magnavox, I found Wildcat to be on VintageHiFi.net most of the time so it will be best for me to ask questions about it over there.
Bill you still have to address your forum not allowing new members to post links, it's very discouraging.
