I took a look at the link.  The tube does not match up with mine.  I can provide a link with some pics in a few days.

I think maybe you have a 50 tube (like other tubes, they might have a 1, 2, or 3 preceding the tube number). I rhink it's a fairly rare tube? Others will know better. Here's a data sheet :

That tube is not a 250R, what other numbers are on the tube?

Can you see any faint number on the glass?

I don't have schematics for these, but these Kadette model shown below use a 250R tube, which I suspect is actually a #50 tube.

I think MEZLAW is on the right track ... what # is on the tube?

Image comes from this link : http://www.americanradiohistory.com/Archive-Radio-Retailing/30s/Radio-Retailing-1937-07.pdf

So I was able to get a schematic for the Kadette K1159 from Radiomuseum.org The 250R appears to be a ballast tube, NOT a 50 tube as I guessed at earlier. The Kadette K1159 is an eleven tube, series string heater type, without any power transformer and with two ballasts and a regulator tube making up three of the eleven tubes.
