Westinghouse 205-D / VT-2 Testing

Post by shunkpenn on Wed Oct 19, 2016 10:11 pm

Greetings
I was going through a bunch of my old tubes recently and found a 205-D and a VT-2 that I purchased years ago from a collector. I they are in good shape but don't know the best way to test them. Wondering if anybody can shed some light on the tubes and the testing procedures. Thanks for the help.

I might suggest finding a tube substitution manual and seeing if you can cross reference those tubes to a number you can test. Those sound like military or industrial types to me. But I have been wrong before, and your results may vary. Good luck.

Welcome to TRF. Those tubes are early radio tubes , probably from the twenties. They were used on early radio sets. Nothing else that I'm aware of, used it....
I think they would make good display items in your collection.

Thanks Bill....I was doing a little research and looks like they were used in a few military radios as well. Apparently fairly rare. Pretty cool tubes. I'm afraid to even test them.

I wouldn't either. They are rare tubes. I'd just display them.

Little gems. They are in good shape outside as well.
