How'd you know?? It arrived about three hours ago. We had to dismount it, un-pack it, and, bring it in the house. .It's now in the living room.

Who was the shipper? Did they crate/wrap it themselves or did somebody have to intervene?

I'm surprised they found a reasonable place to do it.  Lula Georgia ain't exactly uptown.

It's in the living room. I'm cleaning the cabinet.
Model is wrong. CR 281A is the radio.
Amp 111H is the amplifier.
Those are the ones I intend to use.

I read the unit data plate tacked on the wood cabinet. Not the component model numbers.

You'll have to call it up on Google Maps. It'll show you right where it is.

The reason I mentioned those little towns is that I heard of them on a Charlie Douglas record I have.

I don't know the name of the shipper. He has a friend that runs the business there. They owed him a favor, so, did it for less. It came to 150.00 total for packing, and, shipping. They wrapped it in cardboard, and, plastic. It survived...
If you don't want to hear anymore, then, let me know.... The decal is on the inside of the lid. There is a tag on inside of machine compartment which reads Magnavox, and, the state.
The changer has been out because it is missing half of the mounting hardware. The changer is original to it......

Intact, and, rebuildable...
I don't know what I am going to do with it. I was going to put another set of chassis' that came from the deluxe model, but rust I also don't have the schematic for that model. prevents me from reading tube numbers by sockets.
If you want to change the name, it's Magnavox Belvedere.

I've made a sad decision... I'm dumping the idea of retrofitting the deluxe componnents to the Belvedere cabinet. I'm missing too much, and, I have broken my piggy bank too many times..I owe somebody for a loan, as well.
Yesterday afternoon I looked at present componnents. The radio is an AM, SW set only.Changer is 78 rppm. Has a sapphire crystal cartridge, needle.
The amp simply says Amp number, without a suffix.
I believe it was 101...
The project is more than I can handle.
I have one changer, only, with a solenoid, and that's
from mythree way combo.
The solenoid has a simple wire with a pin plug
Which plugs into the radio.
Other side goes who knows where?
I've got the Belvedere, great. But, it wasn't worth it.

You have, except for the changer the same setup I have only with a separate amp.  That unit should be able to deliver wonderful sound with what's there restored.  And there are even a few decent shortwave stations near you and more out there with a good antenna.  The AM radio is a good performer as well.  For just a few dollars you could get a modern FM tuner that would deliver excellent sound with your set.  There is a lot of possibility there.

Thanks. I will rebuild what I have. A couple of knobs for two different changers got lost. The push reject button from this one, and, the speed selector from the one with a solenoid for my three way Magnavox.
I stole the reject button for this one....
The cabinet on this one looks beautiful, except where there is some minor water damage on top, down to the bare wood...... It's a beautiful mahogany, with matching butt mahogany on radio door, and, fake door.
Speaker grill cloth is ripped on top of both grills.....

I know you will like what you have. They sound great. And it is fun to go fishing on the shortwave band.

I know. The one I have with PP 6L6 tubes, which puts out twenty watts through both 12" speakers sounds great. But, I was really hoping to have one like his. Guess that's not going to happen............ CR 192

Re: Magnavox 142B Belvedere

I don't know what happened to the other post, so, I'm back to that one.

I bought the Belvedere, and, paid for it. He contacted a shipper friend who owed him a favor. The shipper called me back, and, I agreed to his price of packing, and, shipping it.

That day was three days after, and, it arrived on Friday afternoon.
It is set up in my living room. I've been cleaning the cabinet, get schematics for it, and, that Magnavox I have that isn't complete,
and, working on it. I decided that since the one I want to use is still short on parts I need I'd go ahead with rebuilding this one. The amplifier is a good one. Amp 101. First year of production of that amp. I think it's a '45 model.
Tube line-up.. 4-6V6 in pppp doubler.
Has a pair of 5y3 rectifiers driving two Handsome 12" speakers.
It's set up for one to produce the higher frequencies, though I doubt it could be very good. That's all for now.

Thanks for finding it for me 75..
