I've received so many Easter gifts I can't count them.
Many from God... And, my church is still open, we are struggling, but, trying hard to keep it open. We have help from God there, also.
I'm walking better, I'm slowly getting stronger, I'm hurting a little less, we can all count our blessings.
And, I have a very wonderful dog.......

When I was a kid, we attended church at a fairly large rural Baptist church. My grandfather was a deacon, along with one of his brothers. The kids had Sunday School class in the finished church basement. One of the deacons, Morris Barker was the head honcho over Sunday School class for us kids. He would lead us in songs and have a prayer and recognize birthdays before we went to our classes. He would always sing a song on Easter "A Sunbeam". I looked for forty years for the words and music to that song with no luck. I could not find it recorded by anyone. I really figured that Morris had made the song up or it was something from his childhood. I bought a bunch of records at an auction one time, and in that stack of records was a Red Foley record with that song on it. Sure enough, the same song with the same words I remember that we sang 60 years ago.

I'm wondering if maybe Red Foley himself had a hand in writing that song. Or maybe Jimmie Davis. Or Stuart Hamblen. Those three guys were buddies, professionally and personally. I looked on discography.com and did not find it anywhere. I never considered the Library of Congress.

Happy Easter everyone. I haven't been around as we were busy with my mother in law. We took her to the DR on Thursday. We took some food up to her house next door on Sunday for Easter and she had just passed away just before we came up there. We had her funeral today. She was a good woman and good to me. Hate to be a downer but I thought I would let everyone know why I hadn't posted much lately.

I have no doubt on that. Hopefully no one will be offended by this ,she was known as a prayer warrior. Both my inlaws were into church and good people.I told my wife I didn't know what a mothers unconditional live was before her. My mother is different, Anyway I am glad I was here with my wife and we found her. I had a big concern that my wife would find her by herself and my wife has heart issues.

We are really tired and plan to do some things for ourselves for a change. My dad got sick around 2000 and passed away in 2003. I was laid off and worked for months to clean up their place. Then my father in law got sick so I started taking care of the place and we helped out with him. Then he passed away about the time he did I had to start cleaning for the road. After that was done my mom got sick and I did a lot there and then my mother in law got sick after that. So at this point we are tired. We still with have to take care of the estate but that will be ok.

I went to my favorite restaurant with my friend Ruth from church, and, had Easter dinner. I go to church on Sundays, and, I sure missed it while I was in the nursing home.

I'm glad to be home...........
