I heard about this on the news this morning, and can't wait to tell my daughter about it!

The same paper had shown a story on the little girl and her successful treatment. It does a heart good to see the little sweetie so happy!

I'm always concerned about side effects though... I have a family member currently battling cancer. She is on an experimental drug, it has certainly brought her back from the "unknown", but sadly the effects of the medication sound like they may be doing more damage to her body then the cancer itself. Bad catch-22. You'd think with all of the technology though, as the article states, we "have to be close".

Cancer is a tough business. Any remission is hard won, tenuous and comes with one or more high cost. My mother had 1 remission, then it returned and finished it's course. We felt it was of value for the additional time it gave us together.

I'm sorry for your loss, 75.

I am a 12 year survivor of throat cancer.  I aged 20 years in about two months.  Radiation is the most horrible treatment I have ever endured.  Never again.  Dying of cancer can't be any worse than that.  If I have a choice of radiation or death in the future, I hope the frau presses my black suit..........
