We are a bit outside the bottom edge of it. It'll be a high of 38 tomorrow. Bad for these parts.

I'm almost in the center of it. No one on the roads thank god and so far no power loss. I'll be glad when it finally goes out to sea late Saturday night into early Sunday. It will be messy here for at least a week....ugh!

In honor of my going home from work they decided to turn the snow on and drop the temp to 32. I made it though.

Luckily I am just out of the way of the storm up in NW Ohio. However the lower eastern half of Ohio is getting a portion of it. I heard it is beginning to be blizzard-like conditions out there. So hopefully everyone stays in and out of it until it's over.

That may be the high. It's snowing right now. It looks like the upper 40s tomorrow. It looks pretty horrible for the folks up the seaboard.

Out of respect for tradition this time of year, I can now officially brag about Arizona weather. It is supposed to be "cooler" here today, with a high of 76. It was 77 yesterday. Shocked

Life is finally back to normal, and most of this nasty white stuff is melting quickly.

We had about 6 to 8 inches here or for those up north a light dusting and for those in the southwest snow armageddon. I have talked to folks who live here now but from up north and they say they prefer up north winter. The big thing here is a layer of ice that makes it hard to drive. Up north the snow is crunchy and driveable they say.

Here is a story from out west. I lived there as a kid from about 68 to about 71, I don't remember the exact years. I lived in Tucson and it never snowed. This one time it snowed there and the entire town was shut down it seemed. People were hiding in their houses looking out from time to time. Since we were from Tennessee we were use to snow. My dad goes outside and stays. The folks in the neighborhood were looking out their windows like they were wondering what white stuff was. They would peek through the window then hide again. It reminded me of the prairie dogs popping in and out of their den. Remember the wack a mole games? Anyway he goes out and builds a snowman. After a while he came back in. A few hours later it was in the 60s. All that was left was this mound of snow in our yard where the snowman was. People came out and just looked at it like it was some type of ancient knowledge or something. If you went behind them and yelled boo they would probably pass out on the spot.

Welcome back, MR MEZ! Did you REALLY get 40 inches, per the Weather Channel?

That is certainly better than 40 inches. I wondered about you. Would you like to borrow my Fergie next winter? It is good for about 22" before it starts dragging its belly.

I was wore out trying to control my snowblower in that high snow. If I was at the farm house I would have used my Ford 800 with a blade.

I have a neighbor in MO who has a skid steer that he thinks is invincible. I got to dig him out one winter with my lowly little Fergie with its big John Deere blade. That blade is about 50 pounds lighter than the front end of the tractor. I can stand on the blade and hop up and down, lifting the front end proportionally.
