chopped and channeled radio

Post by willy3486 on Sun Dec 27, 2015 11:25 am

I heard of chopped and channeled cars but I am wondering if this radio has been done this way. There is something not just right on this one to me. It almost looks like a long stereo that has been cut down and had the record player removed. The cabinet looks like some of the length has been removed. The back piece almost looks like the back of a TV. What am I missing? Is this one that was actually made or has it been Frankensteined?

OT, but I'm glad to see you post, Willy. I wondered if you had survived the bad weather in your neck of the woods.

That looks like some kind of hack to me. It looks like a hybrid PC chassis of some kind. I can't read the name on it. Fortunately, not anything too valuable to start with, and even less so now.

We made it fine here. We did have tornadoes all around us the other night. One fellow I know had a tree limb to do a lot of damage to his house. We did have a lot of flooding here, probably more flood damage than tornado.

As far as the radio I was thinking hack as well. Those big sets re not the nicest looking but that is just plain ugly.

Well It looks like he got what he wanted from it. Now will someone agree on the tastefulness of it. I would imagine someone with a studio apt. would bite.
