Sound or silence?

Post by Wildcat445 on Fri Nov 20, 2015 12:59 pm

The first thing the frau or I do in the morning, is to turn on a stereo or radio. We believe that a day without Magnavox is like a day without sunshine. Do you guys like sound or silence?

I usually turn on TCM. Music comes later in the day here.

One would think that with all the popularity of "retro" programming that perhaps the "powers that be" in broadcasting would re-think the quality and content of currently produced programming. One of the reasons I enjoy "retro" music as well.

Unfortunately, most of the public likes the new crap.

Sadly most of the public acts like the new crap. Co to any Walmart on a Saturday afternoon and you will see Honey Boo Boos running all over the place, Kardashian clones who think they are all that, and Uncle Si 's all over the place trying to figure out which beer, oil, ammo, etc is the cheapest.

As far as music when I first get up to go to work I am still in a daze. I usually eat a bowl of cerial and take a shower quickly. Then I get in my car and have a CD or music playing on to work, then play internet radio at work. I have some type of sound on all the time then when I go to bed I cut a box fan on medium for the noise. Years ago when my blood pressure got so high I began to hear "crickets". The noise cancels that out to the point I don't notice it much. If my BP goes high the crickets get louder.

Makes me think I should go to the livingroom and fire up my Scott Metro with an i-pod and listen to some of my favorite music recorded. Nothing much to listen to on AM or FM.

We have a 300 disc CD changer that is hooked up to both of our Magnavox stereos.

We can watch three one-hour programs on "ON DEMAND" in two hours. (NO commercials!) 40 minutes of the show and 20 minutes of commercials per hour. Radio is even worse.
