Stromberg-Carlson 130R -

Post by CharlesD on Mon Nov 16, 2015 8:23 pm

I my S-C 130R has an open 2nd IF secondary, and a bad on/off switch on the tone control. I have temporarily replaced the IF can with one from a junk 1948 Philco table model (and retuned the trimmers by ear to the 465 KHZ that this set uses), and jumpered across the switch leads (and replaced all capacitors except the micas).  The set works rather well at this point.  The switch was working until the overiding spring broke and shorted the contacts to chassis ground, tripping the breaker in my house breaker box.  Does anyone have any suggestions for replacements?  The switch has a 2 inch long shaft, which I have not found in any of the modern catalogs, or Internet sites showing rotary switches.
