Teac MV-390

Post by tuberadiogeek on Sat Oct 31, 2015 1:00 am

I recently got a Teac MV-390 VCR for free, since it was in the free bin of my favorite thrift store. I get it home and figure out it doesn't want to play a tape and ejects it right away. A few days later I open it up and see it doesn't do anything. I then remove a cover off the bottom and see it's all belt driven, which is new to me since all my VCR's have been direct drive. I see the largest (flat) belt is off and put it back on, but it did not help. So after a better look it appears a few belts are a bit stretched. So is there a place to get belts for VCR's now days? I'd like to fix it and keep it for a back up or for dubbing since it's only mono. I'll attach two photos and link to a video of it in action. Someone posted a link for belts for tape decks and such one time. Perhaps they would be good enough to refresh my memory for your benefit. Good luck.
