Re: Is everybody still alive out there?

Since I began using the internet in 1999, with the exception of secure communication with known parties privately, I have used a username. I am going to continue to do so. The recent events involving the theft by deception from my bank account has only made my choice to continue an easy one. I must use the technologies currently available to bank and conduct my business and I take measures to prevent such things from happening, though it appears it can still happen. At least I am confident that I did not make it easy for it to happen. I do not do this due to, nor against anyone I have become familiar on this or other sites, but against the ones who are around obsequiously to prey on any of us.

I like Greg's idea, we can refer to you as "Seventy". In my ignorance I googled 75X11 just to see if there was a link. Indeed, your RCA radio in your avatar. Makes sense. Perhaps your first or favorite radio? I use one of my favorites for secure log-ins to money transactions. I don't think I will post it here! It would be easier to relate a post here even if you used a fake first name. Pick a short one like I'm "Joe". Laughing
Best, Jerry

I'm certainly not trying to get any personal info from anyone here, just nice to have a first name. I understand your concerns.

WC, You failed to sign out with "Greg". Very Happy I'm also glad that 75 is here to keep things moving as do all the mods.

You could do like WC and use "75".  I like the 75X11 for it's styling.  It performs well too.  My other favorite is my 8R71 AM/FM unit.

I have a 75X11 and an 8R71.  Do you have a 3-RF-9?

The other day I was glancing at the audio equipment that was on the shelf at the ReStore and I believe I was looking at a CD Changer or Player and the tested tag read "Music Box" for the item description. I also think the same person wrote "casette player" on something that was clearly not a casette player. I'm going to look tomorrow when I go there.

A 6-RF-9 may arguably be one of the best tables radio ever built.  AM-FM with nine tubes, 6V6 audio and a phono input.  8 inch speaker with an effective tone control.  Uncharacteristically well built for an RCA.  They typically sell cheaply because many people don't know what they are.  I have three and I would not pass up the chance to buy another one.
