Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) class action lawsuit

Post by Wildcat445 on Tue Aug 18, 2015 1:35 am

A co-worker asked me about this at work this evening. Says he saw it in People magazine. I had not heard of this class-action lawsuit. Alleges price fixing on CRT's from the 1990's on to about the early 2000's. What difference can this make now?

Lawyers will get all the money, of course, but I thought it was interesting.

I had been contacted about a computer monitor but tossed it out. To the individual it's only pennies, but the lawyers count on that, they're the only ones who will make any money.

Agreed....what difference does it make now.

Years ago I had a Campbell Hausfeild air compressor that was a part of a lawsuit of being overpriced. I was ok with what I paid for it, I got some attachments and needed one. I turned in my serial number thinking I would never hear of it again. I got a letter saying I was one of the folks overcharged. So instead of a rebate I got my choice of up to 50 dollars in value items. I got a couple of pieces for free from it. Only thing I would be leary of is if you bought one to replace a tube in a working shop then the customer you did it for might come back and sue you.

It makes no difference to anyone. it makes a niggling profit to some law firm to keep their clerks and jerks employed. And it gets their name in the press. It is grinding smoke.

Yup, you guys nailed it--all about lawyers and the almighty dollar....

In a few years more...there will be a class action suit in regards to picture burn-in on those "new fangled" plasma TVs!!!
