Diamond, my dog

Post by Bill Cahill on Sat Aug 15, 2015 12:26 pm

Please keep Diamond, and, myself in your prayers. I had to take her to the emergency vet at three am two nights ago. She was snorting wildly. They thought it was allergies, but, as late as today, she is refusing to eat, and, not acting right at all. We're going back to the emergency vet this afternoon. Something just isn't right. She won't play, does very little, and, won't eat, or, drink anything.

Three days ago a pen fell out of my pocket, and, I couldn't find it. Late that night I heard her chomping on something. When I got up to look, she was chomping on my pen. She found it. She did manage to swallow the tip off it, so, suspicions are she's got the tip lodged in her throat. Regular vet couldn't see her until Monday, so, they recommended I take her back the the emergency hospital.

Spent nearly four hours there, and, don't know much more. Getting x rays was out at one grand. They demanded payment befor3e they would do anything, this time. They wouldn't believe me that they would get paid. They demanded payment first. The other night they did treatment, then, received payment after. Today they really pissed me off.
In the end, they cut her toe nails, did a full blood test, re hydrated her fluids, and, gave me three pills to give her for three days to try to get her appetite back. She did start drinking water there, and, when we got back home, she drank a lot of water. But, she still won't eat.

Prayers on their way. Do you think the regular doctor will do something?

The regular vet was too busy to see her, so, it was back to emergency hospital at twelve noon yesterday. Between Ruth, and, me, we are nearly 700.00 more in debt. I spent the largest share.
They couldn't find the problem. They did blood work, and, cut her toe nails, as I ordered. I got very upset because she started howling in pain, and, I started running to the back to yell at them.
Ruth yelled at me, and, I stopped. Shortly after they brought her back, and, merely said "We cut her toe nails as you asked.".
We were there four hours yesterday.
I was pretty upset with them...
They gave her fluids. She was pretty dry.
She drank some water there. When we got home, she made like a bee line for the water dish, and, drank a lot of water.
They gave me three pills to give her for her appetite. They gave the first one. At six o'clock last night, she ate a meal. Late at night she ate more.
This morning she ate a little bit.
This afternoon, she ate an entire small meal.
I'm hoping she's alright, but, don't know. But, yesterday her bark was weak. It's now strong as usual, and, she's now begging to have her tummy rubbed, which we've been glad to do.
Ruth went home, and, Diamond went potty. Please keep us in your prayers. I'm guessing that something got lodged in her nasal passage. She was snoring very badly Thursday night, and, early Friday morning. She was at hospital twice.

Diamond, and, I had a good time playing. She went out, and, did potty after eating a small meal, and, gives a big smile, and, a healthy sounding bark. My opinion is she's well. Thank you, God, and, thanks for your continued prayers. She's really a wonderful dog, and, I love her with all my heart, and, soul.
