A change in therapy...............

Post by Bill Cahill on Thu May 21, 2015 12:19 pm

Well, today was my last day of home therapy of electrocuting my muscles to get them to get out of knots.
Next Friday, I start Part 3. I have an appointment at my favorite hospital, St. Anthonny's, as an outpatient
for more physical therapy, That's Pain, and, Torture, to get my body muscles stronger. This will probably eventually include Pool therapy for both my muscles, and, my arthritis....
Slowly, I'm improving............

Post by Bill Cahill on Sun May 31, 2015 6:00 pm

I had my first therapy on Friday. We made an appointment list for the month that day. Unfortunately, I suspect partially from a shopping cart accident I had last Tuesday, and, partly from lack of exercise, I find today that I can't lift my right leg as high as I was able to, and, it hurts. I'm also almost totally back to two canes.
I'm going to tell them about it on my next appointment this coming Wednesday....... I couldn't even lift my leg to get out of the car today. Had to get help getting it out. I'm concerned..........

Make sure they are concerned as well. You want all your steps forward, none backward.

This place is owned by St. Anthony's hospital. I have no doubt of their concern for me....

Bill, pool therapy is great for getting the joints working without a lot of strain on the body. I have to get back to swimming to the the little bit of muscle and joints to work.
Best, Jerry

Had second day of pool therapy today. That ten minuite Jacuzzi in the pool feels good. I felt heavier on land, but, the first four hours felt better. Now, my back is killing me. Muscles aren't used to all this hard core exercise.....

Slowly, I'm improving. I do pool therapy twice a week.
I'm a little stronger, and, not hurting quite as badly.
Still weak, but, improving. I am now back to repairs on bench, so, I know I'm improving...............

Thanks. Spent several days sanding, stripping, buffing out, bumping out, and, now, re painting the neck of my previously unrestored Edison cygnet horn. It was a solid rust bucket. I only bumped out some of the worst dents, but, paint I'm using has a rust inhibitor in it.
It looks the best it ever has for me............. Very Happy

I have to look for a new heavy duty switch for it. But, I was able to solder the part back on the horn with my other Weller soldering gun. It didn't flow as well, but, it did solder.

Another good report..............
Though still limited, I now find I can almost bent to my ankle on my right leg, and, just touch my foot on my left leg.
Further, I'm able to pick up right leg while sitting, and, somewhat pick it up while almost laying down.
I'm able to stand a little longer, too....
It's painful, but, the therapy is working.........
