6g5

Hi all, is there any reason i can't use a 6e5 as a sub for 6g5?

Sure you can. It may appear to be more 'active' and will slam closed very fast on strong local stations but apart from that there won't be any other affects.

Yes just like a 6u5...i was kinda wondering about size of the envelope also. Thank's exray good to hear from ya.

The magic eye tubes came in both shapes, ST (shouldered) and the straight tubular style. They are directly interchangeable, but as has been stated the 6E5 will slam shut on a signal that would ordinarily not fully close a 6G5.

all of my radios get a 6e5 when its time to replace the eyetube. I don't listen to local am stations anyway. It just needs to light up.
