That is for sure headed in the right direction price-wise. The lowest I have seen around here is $1.98 on Power Road at the Valero station.

Wed I filled both tanks on the truck at my corner Shell for $2.15.9 with their 10 cents off... Had hoped to get another dime discount(all Shell allows) using daughters Kroger points but she didn't have any... When I mentioned it yesterday she said "yeah we took both cars over to the new Kroger and filled the two for $30!!" At the store, discount is ten cents for every 100 points accumulated and she had over 1000, got a DOLLAR discount(max)... Paid $1.13.9 for her gas!!!

I paid $60.60 to fill the truck... Seems like a lot... Crying or Very sad

Virginia had a gas tax increase of 5 cents per gallon effective yesterday. I have not been out yet to see if the prices went up or if the tax has been absorbed in the next decrease. To me a successful holiday is one where I never leave the property.

I think some of the price difference is the EPA formulations in different regions.

California gas prices have gone up about 10 cents a gallon on the first of the year due to an increase in state tax! Go figure?

It is down to $1.93 at the Valero on Power Road. There was a blowhard on one of those financial advisor shows on radio that was saying how lower gas prices was actually HURTING the economy. Not my economy, it ain't. It is saving me almost $100 a month.

I wasn't trying to bait you into a political statement. Just personal opinion was all I was after.

I know.....it was me........my mind went right to politics! affraid

I sure hope the prices stay low for a long time. I do a lot of driving in my business with 2 or 3 tanks per week. I'm saving about $15 per fill-up. With only 2 per week that's 8 fill-ups per month or a savings of $120 per month.

I did not think I would EVER see $2 gas in AZ again in my lifetime.  MO, maybe, but their taxes are lots lower.  I was thrilled when I ONLY paid $3.15 on the way out here.  I'd gripe now at $2.15.  It sure does not take long for memory to fade and for me to get greedy, huh?  Rolling Eyes

This is gonna put my "little beater heap that gets good mileage" project on the back burner.  I am going to enjoy the Buick and my Chevy pickup with the 454 a little more while gas is cheap. The only engine I can remember that sounds as good as a Chevy 454 doing its job is a flathead Chrysler Industrial engine on grandpa's old Massey Harris combine!

I am just going to take a wild guess that prices will go up at least in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and West Virginia very soon. I say this because my local refinery hasn't refined any oil at least since a week ago and probably won't for at least another week. The cracker unit handled 65,000 barrels a day, we can refine without it but it will not be 155,000 barrels a day. We do have some product stored, but only a small amount.
